Scott Davis
President and CEO

Scott has been in the financial industry for over thirty years, as a market analyst, then shifting his focus to directly helping individuals and corporations as a Financial Advisor. Growing up on a progressive farm in Iowa and graduating from Iowa State University provided him with a firm foundation. Scott’s passion is to truly connect with the individuals he serves. He focuses on helping clients meet their goals financially, by using technology to develop customized investment strategies, retirement goals, or estate planning. For him, it is an ongoing process, to meet with his clients, understand their goals, and help achieve them. Partnering with his clients he can define their unique financial situation and develop a personal plan. He has navigated wealth management strategies for corporations and private clients alike, with a background of working with pension plans, foundations, and endowments. 

Scott is licensed in Series 3, 7, 24, 66, Insurance, AAMS (Accredited Asset Management Specialist), and is a Licensed Registered Investment Advisor.

Scott has also lent his time to volunteer service in the community being on various boards. Most recently, he has served as Board President of Samaritan Bethany nursing home in Rochester, MN. He has coached community league sports for children and he has also spent time speaking or meeting with people and groups for specific financial guidance.

In his spare time, Scott and his wife Karen love to seek adventure as avid hikers, enjoying time being active and in nature. Travel is a passion they enjoy greatly, as well as spending time with family. He loves to read, a big college sports fan, mixed with some pro football and baseball. Go Cyclones and Twins!

Karen Cady
Vice President and Marketing Director

Karen is easy to talk to, she regards each of her clients as close friends and family members! While a lady never reveals her exact age, Karen will admit she is in her second decade of managing client assets. She can proudly say her client base has been with her through the years. She enjoys the connections she has with her clients and their extended family members through all their transitions in life. 

Karen is a fully licensed registered investment advisor able to offer investment options customized to meet your financial goals. She would love to sit down with you and discuss your financial goals. A big fan of Rochester, Karen is active in the community. In her spare time, she is a prominent volunteer with Girl Scouts River Valleys, has been an active member of United Way, Women Leadership Council, and participates in Chamber of Commerce activities.

Ryan Backus
Wealth Manager

Ryan has been serving both individuals and businesses for nearly a decade in the Rochester area. He is committed to helping those he works with to understand their financial situation and work toward their goals. 

Ryan is licensed in Series 3, 7, 66, Insurance, and is a Licensed Registered Investment Advisor.

Ryan is a Rochester native who attended college at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. He and his wife, Ann, have been married 17 years and have two children, Sarah and William.  He also believes in serving his community. He has been a member of many service organizations including leadership positions on the Board of Directors for Hiawatha Homes.

Giving Back

At Bullpen Wealth, our culture supports our mission to serve our clients and the community we live in. We hope to inspire and empower others on a path to enrich others’ lives through volunteering or gifting to those who need a helping hand, even extending the power of prayer.

Some of the community service projects we have served on recently:

  • Financial guidance as a board member and president of Samaritan Bethany, a local nursing home.
  • Leadership and guidance as a board member and president of Hiawatha Homes, a local non-profit serving people with disabilities.
  • Participating, and supporting fundraising events to benefit the community, such as Festival of Trees.
  • Volunteer coaching and sponsorship of teams in youth league sports for children.
  • Faith-related service and events to benefit those in need.
  • Volunteer and support of local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
  • Previous board member and financial supporter of Honors Choirs for all school-aged children.
  • Supporter of the Eagles Cancer Telethon, fundraiser.
  • College Scholarship funding for 4-H participants in the local area.
  • Supporter of local Robotics Club for school-aged children pursuing STEM involvement.
